Alberta, it’s all about the wildlife and the landscapes. No matter how you intend to view this amazing region of Canada, car, bike, foot, coach or rail, spectacular scenery will emerge around every corner for you.
Home to five of Canada’s 13 UNESCO World Heritage sites Alberta will never leave you with nothing to do. Put on your hiking shoes and explore one of the many trails up through the mountains. Make sure to keep an eye out for Canada’s unique wildlife including black bears, elk, bison and grizzlies.
Alberta is broken up in to six geographic areas: Edmonton, Alberta South, Calgary, Alberta Central, Canadian Rockies and Alberta North, each with their own unique flavour.

In Calgary catch the stampede, the largest rodeo around where cowboys, boot scooting and country music all come together.
Shop to your hearts content at the West Edmonton Mall where the kids can be entertained at the world’s largest indoor amusement park, waterpark and wave pool.
Wilderness and wildlife is waiting to be explored in Banff and Jasper National Parks. Ski, climb, hike, mountain bike or kayak these great outdoors.

Getting there
Alberta can be accessed by two main airports, Calgary and Edmonton or you may choose to arrive by train or hop on a coach from another part of this spectacular country.
Things to Do
Visit one of the UNESCO heritage sites such as the Rocky Mountain Parks of Banff or the uniquely named Head-Smashed in Buffalo Jump – a site dating back almost 6,000 years, significant to the native people of Canada.
Take a drive through the Canadian Rockies.
Visit one of Edmonton’s museums or go to one of the 30 annual festivals that take place in Edmonton throughout the year.
