You can take your pick from modern vibrant cities with towering sky scrapers to historical colonial ports where Europeans first set foot.
Starting on the west coast is Vancouver, bordered by spectacular natural scenery, it is a city that is warm and welcoming that effortlessly combines cosmopolitan chic and world class amenities with a fun easy going attitude.
Enjoy a harbour cruise and take in views of the city skyline and surrounding mountain ranges or explore the city on a trolley tour allowing you to hop on and off as you please.
Just across the Straits of Georgia lies the provincial Capital of Victoria which is best explored by foot or by bike on one of the many cycle ways. Sites not to be missed include the famed Butchart Gardens and whale watching off the coast.
Cross the Rockies into Alberta and make a pit stop in the cowboy city of Calgary.
Plan you visit for mid July when the stampede fever takes over the whole city. The Calgary Stampede showcases the best in rodeo and all things wild west over a 10 day period each July. To get a real taste of cowboy life you can stay on a working ranch taking daily trail rides through spectacular scenery.
Visit the Alberta state capital Edmonton which is a great starting point to discover Jasper National Park and the Northern Lights. Possibly also heaven for die hard shoppers as this is home to West Edmonton Mall the largest shopping experience in the world.
Head east along the Lake Ontario and you will arrive in Toronto, Canada’s biggest city. Toronto’s skyline dominated by the striking CN Tower where a ride up the glass elevator is a definite must do.

Stroll along the Habourfront Centre where in winter you can ice skate outdoors and in summer enjoy beachside fun.
Toronto is a multi cultural city and this is reflected in the great variety of cuisine available throughout the city at over 7,000 restaurants. Be sure to sample local favourites such as Alberta steaks and Canuck pancakes with peameal bacon and maple syrup.
Only 90 minutes south of Toronto are the majestic Niagara Falls making this an easy day trip or overnight stay. Don’t just view the falls experience them by jumping aboard the maid of the mist where you can cruise right next to the falls and feel their mighty roar.
Make your way to Canada’s capital city of Ottawa where a strong British influence can be seen in the cities architecture such as Parliament Hill, the National Gallery and the Canadian Museum of Nature. In winter the Rideau Canal turns into the largest ice skating rink in the world providing hours of fun.
Next stop Montreal the vibrant heart of French Canada.
Montreal is sophisticated and chic with a European vibe. Locals are immensely proud of their French heritage and this can be seen and heard everywhere but don’t worry most locals also speak English.
From Old Montreal with its warren of crooked cobble stoned lanes and colonial buildings filled with boutiques and boulangeries to the Basillica Notre Dame with its beautiful stained glass windows and the vibrant Latin Quarter home to summer festivals, bars and clubs make this a city not to be missed.
A final taste of French Canadian culture can be savoured in Quebec City the only walled city north of Mexico. A world heritage city that is over 400 years old and home to the famed Le Chateau Frontenac where an overnight stay is a definite must.
Put you walking shoes on and walk the 4.6 kms on top Of the city walls which allow you to view the grand architecture such as the La Citadelle and the mighty St Lawrence River.
With so many great cities Canada truly has something for everyone.

We were up bright eyes and bushy tailed (well beady eyes and bushed tails!) at 4.30am this morning for our transfer from Banff to Calgary. All our drivers have been really friendly and chatty but I was quietly relieved when this driver discretely turned off the bus lights 10 minutes after the journey began to let us continue sleeping.

I woke early to the sound of the snow plows heading up the mountain - what a perfect alarm clock at a ski resort. After a hearty breakfast and purchasing a bright pink crash helmet we headed up the mountain for a full day skiing. We paid for ski lessons in the morning and then used the expertise of the mountain hosts in the afternoon. All these guys (and girls) are awesome and so knowledgeable.

We skied the whole day today at Silver Star in British Columbia, Canada and we had perfect blue skies, no wind and only one or two people on any run we went on - unmatched skiing conditions. This day has officially gone down as my skiing day highlight. WOW.
